The future of Marco Reus at Borussia Dortmund is still completely unclear. Record national player Lothar Matthäus could imagine a separation between BVB and the offensive man.
“Reus isn’t getting any better either, the injuries will remain and of course he’s getting older,” argued the TV expert on “Sky”: “If you no longer trust Marco Reus one hundred percent, then you should find a reasonable solution that works for both sides is good.”
Reus is “no longer an untouchable regular player as captain,” said Matthäus. In the current season, the BVB captain often only plays as a joker under head coach Edin Terzic.
“I see people at Dortmund who can play Reus’ position. A Julian Brandt showed up when Reus was injured. They also have Karim Adeyemi. They have great players up front who can certainly replace Reus.” said Matthäus with reference to a possible Dortmund Reus separation.
Agreement with BVB? Advisor denied
The BVB professional only has one contract until the end of the season. Reports of an alleged agreement between Dortmund and their attacking midfielder had recently been denied by his advisor.
“I am very surprised by these reports, because there is currently no agreement,” said Reus’ agent Dirk lever to “Sky”.
