“Is a promise for the future”
Borussia Dortmund has once again extended the contract of offensive talent Jamie Bynoe-Gittens early. After the 19-year-old signed a contract until 2025 in August last year, Bynoe-Gittens has now committed himself to BVB long-term until 2028.
The England U21 international moved from Manchester City to the Black and Yellow youth team on a free transfer in the summer of 2020, who only had to pay the mandatory training allowance. Bynoe-Gittens made his debut in the Bundesliga in April 2022 at the age of 17 years and eight months.

The BVB talent has repeatedly struggled with injuries and had to undergo shoulder surgery twice last season. The Dortmund professionals have made 27 appearances (three goals), and on matchday 5, Bynoe-Gittens was in the starting line-up for the first time this season in the home game against VfL Wolfsburg (1-0).
Interest from several top clubs: BVB convinces Bynoe-Gittens to extend his contract
“Jamie is a promise for the future. A winger who has extremely high speed, is constantly looking for one-on-one situations, can solve them with his technical quality, create scoring opportunities for teammates or finish himself. We are convinced that his development is far from complete and are pleased that Jamie has decided early on for a long-term future at BVB despite the great interest from several top clubs in Europe,” said sporting director Sebastian Kehl.
Bynoe-Gittens added: “I am proud that Borussia Dortmund is giving me the opportunity to sign such a long-term contract. Even in the phases of the past few months that were a little more difficult for me due to injury, I always felt the faith and trust of the club. I feel incredibly comfortable in this team, in this city, in this stadium. BVB was always my first point of contact because they have shown over many years that they give young players playing time at the highest level if they impress with their performance. I hope that I can take the next step together with my club and would like to help my team with goals, assists and hard work on the pitch.”
