The Austrian Johannes Moser was one of the biggest discoveries of the U17 World Cup. In addition to FC Bayern and TSG Hoffenheim, Borussia Dortmund is now apparently also entering the poker game for the top scorer in the tournament in Qatar.
As “Sky” reports, Borussia Dortmund has obtained information about Johannes Moser from FC Liefering.
FC Bayern and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, as well as Ajax Amsterdam from the Netherlands and the Italian top club Juventus Turin are mentioned as other interested parties.
However, the first point of contact remains the partner club RB Salzburg, according to the TV station.
The rumors about Bayern and Hoffenheim are not new. In November, “oe24” had already reported on the Bundesliga duo’s courtship.
The two clubs had good cards in poker around Moser thanks to their Austrian sports directors Christoph Freund and Andreas Schicker, the newspaper said.
FC Bayern could therefore be ahead. Because: Freund already knows the attacking midfielder, who also plays on the left wing, from their time together at RB Salzburg. When the jewel moved to the youth team of the club from the city of Mozart in 2021, Freund was in charge at the time.
Moser currently plays for FC Liefering in the 2nd Austrian league. Despite his young age, the 17-year-old is a regular player. One goal and one assist are recorded after nine appearances.
Johannes Moser becomes top scorer at the U17 World Cup
Moser recently played well at the U17 World Cup in Kater. The teenager was top scorer with eight goals in eight games. Only in the final did Austria lose 0-1 to Portugal.
With Victor Osimhen (10 goals in 2015), Florent Sinama-Pongolle (9 goals in 2001) and Souleymane Coulibaly (9 goals in 2011), only three players were more successful at a U17 World Cup than Moser.
