Criticism of BVB and the coach
When asked about rumors about him, Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic appeared combative. How should he hide that when asked about it, said the 41-year-old on the pay TV channel “Sky”. He couldn’t stop it, he couldn’t influence it: “But what I can influence is how I deal with it. I’m someone who likes to get ahead of things. I like to be someone who takes responsibility. I also like to be someone who fights. If I don’t do that, how can I expect others to do it for me.”
Recently there has been increased criticism of BVB and coach Terzic after the black and yellow team repeatedly showed extremely changeable performances this season. While they fluctuated between fourth and fifth place in the Bundesliga and failed in the DFB Cup round of 16, first place was secured in the Champions in the “group of death” with Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Newcastle United.
“I have no problem with what people think about me. What matters is what the team thinks about me and what those who can watch me work every day think about me. These people make me feel really good,” emphasized Terzic. Most recently, TV expert and ex-professional Jan Aage Fjörtoft circulated speculation around the Champions League game against PSG (1:1) that Erik ten Hag, who was heavily criticized at Manchester United, would be the new coach in Dortmund could.
There has also been a controversial discussion in the Transfermarkt BVB forum for a few weeks now about whether Terzic is still the right one for Westphalia. “BVB has a bigger coaching problem than a player problem, that should be clear to even the last fan by now,” wrote user “Kaapke49,” for example. Meanwhile, the points tally continues to speak for Terzic. Only two trainers since 2000 have had a better average than the 41-year-old with 1.98.
