Ex-Fortuna coach
Borussia Dortmund has found a successor for Enrico Maaßen, who is moving to FC Augsburg: Christian Preusser is taking over as coach at BVB II in the 3rd division. The 38-year-old signed a two-year contract. Preusser successfully managed SC Freiburg II from 2016 to 2021 and led it into the 3rd division, most recently he was on the sidelines at Fortuna Düsseldorf from July 2021 to February 2022. In 23 games, the second division team under him only scored one point on average.
“The fact that we were able to hire an interesting coach in Christian Preusser at such short notice also shows the appeal of our second team,” said team manager Ingo Preuss. Preusser added: “I’m really looking forward to this exciting task at Borussia Dortmund and I’m happy that we were able to come to an agreement so quickly.”
