Ramy Bensebaini has signed a long-term contract with Borussia Dortmund. That reports “sky‘ citing his own information. The 27-year-old comes to the new season on a free transfer from Borussia Mönchengladbach, where his working paper ends. With a market value of 20 million euros, the Algerian is one of the most valuable Bundesliga professionals with an expiring contract.

As a look at the TM database shows, only Thomas Meunier 2020 (EUR 24 million) and Nikas Süle last year (EUR 35 million) were valued higher for their free transfers to BVB. Bensebaini, meanwhile, would be the first signing for next season when Ansgar Knauff (Frankfurt) and Thorgan Hazard (Eindhoven) return from loans and Mahmoud Dahoud leaves the club.

The speculation about a Bensebaini change to Dortmund had lasted for months.
