Most valuable Bundesliga keeper
With a market value of 35 million euros, Gregor Kobel from Borussia Dortmund is not only the most valuable keeper in the Bundesliga, but also one of the top 10 worldwide. This status could soon be reflected in the earnings of the 25-year-old Swiss at BVB. According to the “Picture” Kobel’s advisor Philipp Degen (“SBE Management AG”) is negotiating with the black and yellow about an extension of his client including a salary increase. Previously, the “WAZreported about it.
The increase in salary can therefore be significant. Kobel is currently said to be earning around EUR 3.5 million gross, which could increase to at least EUR 10 million after signing a new contract. The top earner in Dortmund is Niklas Süle (27) with around 12 million euros.
With Neuer and Onana: These goalkeepers cost 30 million euros or more
An extension including such an increase in remuneration would also help in future with regard to advances from home and abroad. Kobel had reportedly ruled out a transfer early this summer, and interested Manchester United have now signed André Onana (27) from Inter Milan for at least 52.5 million euros. Chelsea FC and Bayern Munich have also been linked to Kobel this year.
At Kobel, I would also find such a salary jump appropriate. If you can keep him that long-term, it should close the “construction site” goalkeeping position for a long time.
Also interesting that Philipp Degen is his advisor. I wasn’t even on my radar. …
