After the failed move to the Bundesliga, national player Armel Bella-Kotchap is drawn to Dutch top club PSV Eindhoven.
The defender, who was probably also interested in FC Bayern and BVB, is leaving Premier League relegated Southampton on loan.
This was confirmed by PSV late Friday evening. It was initially unclear whether the deal included a purchase option.
The 21-year-old Bella-Kotchap played for VfL Bochum from 2019 to 2022 before making the leap to Southampton.
Despite the relegation of the Saints, the central defender convinced, he had been traded by the top teams Bayern and Dortmund until the transfer window closed in the Bundesliga.
Now Eindhoven struck. “He can fill the position exactly as we want. He’s fast, physically strong and also good on the ball,” said PSV football director Earnest Stewart. “I’m looking forward to seeing him in action in Peter Bosz’s team .”
