Elected by the community
As expected, after their 5-1 and 4-2 wins against Freiburg and in Wolfsburg, many players from Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern are in the Transfermarkt team for the 19th Bundesliga matchday. Overall, the community selected four BVB professionals and three Munich players. Kingsley Coman received the most votes with 75.8 percent – but in the end only exactly one more than Eintracht striker Randal Kolo Muani (3-0 against Hertha), who also won twice.
At least half of all votes were collected by Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck (65.4% – 1 goal), Raphaël Guerreiro (54.4% – 3 assists) and Julian Brandt (53.7% – 1 goal), winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei (50.7% – 3 assists) from VfL Bochum and Bayer Jamal Musiala (50% – 1 goal) behind. Bundesliga debutant João Cancelo convinced 47.1 percent of those voting with his performance and assist to make it 2-0 by Coman.
The eleven complete players who were not quite so clear for the community: Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, for example, came to 18.4 percent, BVB midfielder Jude Bellingham to 24.3 percent – two votes more than Werder’s Jens Stage. Goalkeeper Marvin Schwäbe from 1. FC Köln collected 27.9 percent after the 0-0 draw against RB, but clearly beat Kevin Trapp, Jonas Omlin, Yann Sommer and Gregor Kobel, who also received more than 10 percent of the votes.
With Thomas Letsch, another Bochumer leads the eleven of the match day as a coach. In front of their home crowd, VfL has always won under the coach who has been in office since the end of September – including the clear 5-2 win against Hoffenheim, which cost his opponent André Breitenreiter his job on Monday.
