An easy-to-make buttermilk cake is suitable for those of you who don’t have time to fiddle with complicated Christmas pastries.
The ingredients for the buttermilk cake are simply mixed together in two different parts and the dough is ready to be baked. Baking a Christmas cake couldn’t be easier than this!
Buttermilk cake
4 dl wheat flour
2 dl sugar
1 teaspoon of soda
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon of ginger
1 teaspoon of orange peel
1 tablespoon of syrup
1 dl melted fat
3 dl buttermilk
For decoration:
Powdered sugar
1. Mix the dry ingredients together.
2. Add syrup, fat and buttermilk to the flour mixture.
3. Mix the dough until smooth.
4. Pour the dough into a greased and breadcrumbed pan (1.4 l) and bake on the lower level of the oven at 175 degrees for an hour.
5. Sift powdered sugar over the cake as a decoration.
