Butland signs with Glasgow Rangers: without a commitment for loan club Man United

Free transfer from Crystal Palace

Jack Butland is making his first professional career move to a club outside of England. The 30-year-old joins Glasgow Rangers after leaving Crystal Palace, who loaned the keeper to Manchester United last year. In Scotland he signed a contract until 2027.

“I’m so happy. The club speaks for itself. No matter where you are in football, everyone knows Rangers. This is a huge opportunity for me and I’m happy to be here. (…) It’s an important summer for the club and we need to get off to a good start. It’s hugely important that the work gets done early so that we come back stronger and ready to go,” said Butland, who has made 290 appearances for six different clubs in England. He was unused for Man United last season.
