After a serious head injury he suffered in early April against the VfB Stuttgart had moved to the Arminia, the signs were goodbye. Klos kept a low profile about his further plans, but at least before his serious injury he was planning for another year or two in professional football.
Eleven years at Arminia are now twelve
He has now secured one thing – in Bielefeld. It is still unclear whether he will play with the Arminen in the Bundesliga or again in the 2nd division. There is little to suggest that Bielefeld can still avoid direct relegation, but until Friday there was nothing to suggest that Klos would make twelve from eleven years in the Arminia jersey.
But that’s exactly what the club has now announced. “I’ve almost started cleaning out my locker. But then I thought to myself: Leaving our stadium lying on a stretcher – that can’t be it. I’ll go on for another year“Klos says in a video shared by the club on Twitter.
So Klos, who only saw the season finale as a spectator because of his injury, doesn’t have to say goodbye to the fans – and they don’t have to say goodbye to him. The latter is important “on the Alm” because Klos is at least a crowd favorite there after 389 competitive games with 162 goals and 71 assists, if not even enjoys cult status.
