‘But canceling Glennis I understand’

Davina Michelle is in principle not a fan of the cancel culture, but she does understand that Glennis Grace has been canceled for the Best Singers concerts. “I can understand that choice again.”

Glennis Grace was supposed to perform at the Best Singers concerts last night and tonight, but she was replaced by Do at the last minute. According to the organization, her fight in the Jumbo is still too fresh in the memory. The other performing artists think differently about this decision.

Frans Duijts, for example, thinks it’s a shame. “I think it’s a bit disappointing for Glennis. We are all human and we all do things that are not quite right or that are not quite right. We make mistakes and we should be able to forgive them. I would have liked it if she had been there,” he tells Shownieuws.

Colleague Davina Michelle does understand the cancellation of Glennis. “I saw her tour recently and that she also explains it to the public in those shows and that she took her son with her. I’m not a big fan of the cancel culture myself, but I can understand the choice again. I’m a bit in between.”

‘I don’t care’

Other artists cleverly talk around it. “I don’t really get that whole story and what everyone thinks about it, I really don’t care at all,” says Sanne Hans, for example.

And Emma Heesters: “I don’t really have an opinion about that, to be honest. I think Do is doing it now and she is also a great singer. I look forward to hearing her sing.”

Henk Poort

RTL Boulevard did not get any interesting quotes from the concert. “We asked exactly the wrong person, Henk Poort,” said TV expert Rob Goossens. “He hadn’t been told at all that she would not come anymore, so he saw during the rehearsals that Do was there and not Glennis Grace. He didn’t quite get it.”

He continues: “But when that question came up, they didn’t like it so much behind the scenes. We also wanted to know about Do, but we weren’t allowed to ask that question.”

middle finger

Glennis was still under fire this week because she performed in Amsterdam with her controversial son. Telegraaf reporter Jordi Versteegden: “A few blocks away is the Jumbo, where a few employees have been left with real trauma if we have to believe the stories about that incident.”

“I really think it’s a big middle finger. Why is this necessary? Precisely in Amsterdam, precisely in the city where everything happened. You could have omitted this. This is challenging as far as I’m concerned.”
