Busta Rhymes throws drink at fan – after he grabbed his butt

On February 14, 2023, Busta Rhymes spoke at a fashion sales convention in Las Vegas. After his keynote, which one of those present apparently liked very much, the rapper made his way back. Interrupted by the woman who would later describe her behavior as a “well-intentioned mistake”: she suddenly grabbed the star’s butt.

This, visibly surprised and apparently slightly angry, gave free rein to his feelings and threw his water bottle at her. A US gossip site found the doused woman and asked about her intention. She said she accidentally grabbed his butt of all places because she was a longtime fan and wanted a photo. A video of the interaction is circulating on the internet.

Not an isolated incident

Busta Rhymes, who was in the public eye earlier this month for appearing on hip-hop’s 50th anniversary Grammy show, has experienced both parts of this struggle in the past — albeit on different occasions.

In August 2022, a woman standing in the front row at one of his shows tried to touch the rapper’s leg as he fell to his knees. He then slapped her hand away and interrupted his concert to look for the ring he had lost in the process and to point out that he did not accept such things. In 2015, there was an advantage for which the then 43-year-old was later convicted. He threw a protein shake at an employee at a Manhattan gym. The escalation was allegedly preceded, on a multi-day timeline, by heated arguments between the two and, immediately before, an exchange of water splashes.

In 2021, the rapper released a remaster of his debut album THE COMING, 25 years after the original was released.
