In the regular competition, Os Lusitanos was also the strongest of the two Amsterdam indoor football teams, but VNS United won in the quarter-finals of the cup. Both clubs are therefore reasonably evenly matched. However, many players were missing from the team from Amsterdam-Noord. For example, star player and top scorer Adil Boukris was injured on the bench.
With a weak team, VNS United did quite well before half time. With a 2-1 lead for Os Lusitanos, both teams went to the changing rooms halfway. After the break and especially in the last part of the match, the visitors from West found the net quite easily.
