In Kazakhstan, entrepreneurs estimate damage from riots at almost $ 91 million

The total amount of damage from the riots in Kazakhstan is, according to rough estimates, 40 billion tenge (about $ 91 million), in Alma-Ata – 39.5 billion tenge ($ 89.8 million). About it reported National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the country “Atameken”.
“The nature of the damage mainly consists in damage to facades and premises, and there are also numerous facts of theft of expensive machinery, equipment, interior items, commodity stocks,” the message says.
In total, about 300 affected businesses were identified in the country, located in 43 facilities (of which 12 are shopping and entertainment centers and trading houses). Most of the damage was suffered by enterprises operating in trade, catering, transport, services and the financial sector (ATMs).
According to the Koramsak arms association, six arms stores were looted in Alma-Ata: Korgan-Center, Arma-56, Anna-16, Anna, Oruzheinik and Pro-Hunt. The organization stressed that it is still difficult to assess all the damage caused due to the ongoing riots.
