BURTON: Design Your Pride – A Call for Artists

Unfortunately, the LGBTQ+ community is well aware of the lack of representation and lack of visibility. To counteract this, BURTON is launching a call for artists in the community to submit their portfolios for this year’s Pride Month (June) and thus be able to actively help shape the first Pride Capsule Collection for 2023. Authenticity is the focus of this campaign, because the outdoor manufacturer wants to give artists the stage to express themselves creatively and create visibility in the sports industry.

The winner will not only be compensated for his or her work, but also have the opportunity to exchange ideas with the product design team in BURTON’s headquarters in Vermont. Expressing creativity and social commitment through collaborations has long been part of BURTON’s corporate philosophy. The brand embodies the white canvas on which members of the LGBTQ+ community can now express themselves creatively. With a focus on inspiration and empowerment, the company is committed to creating opportunities for visibility and encouraging artists to bring their designs to life.

In addition, BURTON uses its reach as an outdoor brand to support the Venture Out project financially in the form of a donation. The organization works for queer, trans and LGBTQ+ youth and adults to create a community in which skills such as greater self-confidence are taught through joint outdoor adventures. At the same time, the Venture Out project offers a safe space for members of the community as well as sports activities and experiences that strengthen the participants and allow them to grow personally. As a result, BURTON not only supports Venture Out’s efforts, but focuses on them with their important work.

To participate, artists must upload their work (portfolio, mockups, designs) and story online by July 1st, 2022. From June 13, this can be done in just a few clicks using the QR code below and the link on the website:

The winner will be announced on July 8, 2022 and invited to BURTON headquarters in Burlington, Vermont, in early August to work on the new collection with the design team.
