And with the temperatures!
On Sunday evening at around 6.25 p.m. a fresh water pipe broke on Bürgerheimstrasse in Lichtenberg and flooded the street.
Fire brigade and Berliner Wasserbetriebe disconnected the line. The civil protection officer in the Lichtenberg district office, Philipp Cachée, together with the water company, organized water bags for the residents of the households in the affected street.
In addition, fire hydrants were opened so that the residents of the houses could get water to flush the toilet.
The Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) used a light mast to illuminate the scene of the accident. A company commissioned by Berliner Wasserbetriebe began repair work on the line on Monday night.
Power lines that ran close to the water line were problematic. According to initial findings, however, the electricity did not have to be shut off.
