Sean Dyche, who had been in charge for almost ten years, has ceased to be Burnley managerthird from last in the Premier, the club said in a statement.
Burnley indicated that both Dyche, a 50-year-old former soccer player, and his coaching staff, made up of Ian Woan, Steve Stone and Billy Mercer, are also leaving the entity.
Remember that under his baton, since he arrived in October 2012, the team has experienced “one of the most successful periods in the club’s history“, in which he was promoted twice, twice finished in the top half of the table and even qualified for European competitions for the first time in 51 years.
“Firstly, we would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Sean and his staff for their achievements at the club over the last decade,” said Chairman Alan Pace.
“Nevertheless, results this season have been disappointing and although it has been a very difficult decision, with eight crucial games ahead of us this season, we believe a change is needed to give the team the best possible opportunity to stay in the Premier”, justified the leader.
Burnley, who have lost five of their last six games, find themselves in the relegation zone, four points shy of salvation from Everton.
In his statement he specifies that the process has already begun to find the replacement of the technician that he will announce in due time.
