Burglars broke into at least six cars in the Predikherenlaan in Tilburg on Wednesday night. The perpetrators targeted electronics and valuables that were in the cars. A parked scooter was also completely stripped.
Striking was the preference of the perpetrators for the smaller models of the brands Toyota, Peugeot and Citroën. “The lock was forced on these cars to get in the cars. Most electronics have been removed, such as sound systems and speakers,” says Tom.
His car and that of his girlfriend were also the target of the burglars. “The navigation system was removed from my girlfriend’s car. It was striking that they left the airbags in all the cars.” Airbags can potentially bring in a lot of money for thieves.
The assailants also broke into a garage. “The window of the car that was in it was smashed and valuable items were also removed from the car. I suspect it is a gang.”
Tom and his girlfriend have filed a report with the police and are now sitting around the table with their insurance company. “It’s the first time we’ve experienced something like this in this neighborhood. Fortunately, most stolen items are partially or completely reimbursed. It’s also a strange thought that they have been in your car and have taken things that they should actually stay away from. “
