Burberry has appointed Caroline Laurie to the role of Vice President of Corporate Responsibility.
According to LinkedIn, Laurie joined the British luxury label in June. Previously, she was Director of Responsible Business and Sustainability at Kingfisher hardware store for eight years. In her new role, Laurie is responsible for integrating Burberry’s sustainability incentives, targets and metrics, reports news platform Retail Week.
Like many other luxury brands, Burberry has announced a number of new sustainability initiatives in recent years to meet growing consumer and investor demand for greener fashion.
In May, Burberry became the latest fashion house to ban the use of exotic fur in its products after a protracted campaign by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
In January the company announced it had secured a new £300m loan linked to sustainability and last year it launched a wardrobe rental and resale offering in partnership with My Wardrobe HQ Womenswear launched in the UK.
