Freiburg and Gladbach separate after a 6-goal spectacle

Greuther Fürth is relegated from the Bundesliga: 1:4 against Leverkusen
SpVgg Greuther Fürth is the first to be relegated from the Bundesliga. The Franconians, who have been bottom of the table since September, can no longer reach the relegation place after the 1: 4 (1: 2) against Bayer Leverkusen on the remaining three match days. Jetro Willems (5th) put Fürth ahead with his first Bundesliga goal in front of 11,579 spectators. The Spielvereinigung is returning to the 2nd division after just one season, as it did after its first promotion to the Bundesliga in 2012. Despite an increase in performance in the second half of the season, the burden of the devastating start to the season was too great in the end – the team had only scored one point in the first 14 games and thus paved their way to the second division. Leverkusen, on the other hand, collected important points in the fight for the Champions League places on Saturday.
Arminia also loses under Kostmann – Cologne stays on course for Europe
Arminia Bielefeld falls almost unchecked in the direction of the 2nd Bundesliga, even under interim coach Marco Kostmann – and that despite an own goal gift from the opponent. In the first game under the previous goalkeeper coach Kostmann, the largely harmless Arminia suffered a 1:3 (1:2) defeat at 1. FC Köln and, three games before the end of the season, as the penultimate one, is still in a direct relegation zone. The duel with Hertha BSC next weekend is of crucial importance. Bielefeld has taken one point from the past eight games.
On the other hand, the people of Cologne celebrated their third win in a row and are dreaming more than ever of the European Cup. FC is currently in seventh place, which should be enough for the leap to Europe. In addition, with 49 points, the Rhinelanders have already matched their record since the introduction of the three-point rule. Mark Uth (3rd minute) who was outstanding before the break with the earliest Cologne first division goal in 16 years, Anthony Modeste with his 17th goal of the season (43rd) and Joker Jan Thielmann (86th) scored the goals for Cologne. When balancing was
Timo Hübers scored an own goal (33rd).
Eintracht’s European Cup heroes again lackluster in the Bundesliga
Eintracht Frankfurt’s Europa League heroes from Barcelona continue to weaken in everyday Bundesliga life. Coach Oliver Glasner’s team only managed to draw 2-2 (1-1) against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and have now been waiting for a win for five games. As a result, the Hessians did not manage a convincing dress rehearsal for the semi-final first leg on the international stage on Thursday in London at West Ham United.
Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka first headed into his own goal (12th minute), then into that of the guests (32nd). Daichi Kamada provided the interim lead (66′) before Joker Georginio equalized for TSG in front of 50,500 fans (78′).
