The German Football League (DFL) is discussing with its clubs moving the top game in the Bundesliga to later on Saturday evening.
From the 2025/26 season, when the new media rights period begins, the top game could kick off at 8:30 p.m. So far, the kick-off is on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
“Sport-Bild” reported on Wednesday (October 26th, 2022) about a corresponding suggestion by the DFL. It was confirmed to the sports show from league circles, but the process is at the very beginning. It was more about showing an option.
Years rather than months are likely to pass before the clubs decide on changes.

In the current period of rights, the top game of the 2nd division kicks off on Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. A parallel scheduling of games in the top leagues is almost impossible. An exchange with a second division game on Saturday at 6.30 p.m. and a Bundesliga game at 8.30 p.m. would be conceivable.
When asked, the DFL did not comment on the report.
