Germany international Mergim Berisha is moving from FC Augsburg to Bundesliga competitor TSG Hoffenheim. TSG announced this on Wednesday evening.
Shortly before the end of the transfer period, the Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim has strengthened itself with a well-known player: offensive man Mergim Berisha is moving from league competitor Augsburg to Hoffenheim. In the Kraichgau, the 25-year-old signed a contract until June 30, 2027. Both clubs have agreed not to disclose the transfer terms, the announcements said. According to media reports, the transfer fee should be in the double-digit million range.

“Mergim not only proved during his time at FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga that he is always able to pose an enormous goal threat against any opponent,” said TSG Managing Director Alexander Rosen. “He is extremely difficult to defend and, in addition to his physical presence, is also very efficient in front of the opposing goal.”
2023 debut in the A-National team
Berisha initially switched to FC Augsburg on loan from Fenerbahce Istanbul in August 2022. In the past season he developed into one of the top performers for the Bavarian Swabians. He scored nine goals in 23 Bundesliga games. This summer, Augsburg pulled the option to buy the striker.
With the German U-21 national team, he celebrated winning the European Championship title in 2021. In March 2023, the 25-year-old was called up for the German national team for the first time and made his debut in the 2-0 international win against Peru.
Storm duo Weghorst and Berisha at TSG?
In addition to TSG Hoffenheim, Borussia Dortmund and VfL Wolfsburg are said to have been interested in the international.
