Jürgen Klopp will leave Liverpool FC at the end of the season. A possible successor from the Bundesliga has now commented on this.
Coach Xabi Alonso of Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen has cleverly evaded questions about whether he could imagine moving to Liverpool as Jürgen Klopp’s successor at the end of the season. “Speculation is normal. I’m really happy here, every day is a challenge. We’re on a great journey,” said the Spanish world and European champion on Friday.
Leverkusen is the “right place” and he is currently not thinking about his future. Asked whether he could rule out coaching Liverpool next season, Alonso said: “It’s a direct question, but I don’t have a direct answer. I’m safe here.”

However, he praised Klopp’s work at Anfield Road, where the Iberian once worked as a player: “What Jürgen has done at Liverpool over the last nine years deserves great admiration and great respect. But my focus is on Leverkusen. I have great motivation to work here.” Alonso called Klopp’s decision “a big surprise”.
