The DFB sports court does not block Julian Nagelsmann after his verbal attack on referees. The Bayern coach still has to pay a fine.

Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann got away with a mild sentence and no suspension after his verbal outburst last weekend in the Bundesliga.

The DFB sports court only fined the 35-year-old 50,000 euros. As the German Football Association announced, FC Bayern has already approved the verdict.

So far, there have been no sports court incidents at Nagelsmann

After the game at Borussia Mönchengladbach (2:3) last Saturday, Nagelsmann made unsportsmanlike comments to Tobias Welz’s team of referees in the dressing room. “Since he had not yet appeared before the sports court, apologized that same evening and also showed insight in the statement to the control committee, the committee refrained from applying for an indoor ban,” the message said.

The head coach of the record champions had apologized for his massive criticism of referee Welz the evening after the incident. Nagelsmann’s anger was triggered by a red card against Bayern’s French central defender Dayot Upemacano. In a ZDF interview, he admitted that when he broke out, the expression “softened pack” was also made.
