After his splendid start in the FC Bayern jersey, new signing Sadio Mané has had more adjustment problems in recent weeks. The Senegalese now conceded this himself.
New country, new league, new club: In the first few days at FC Bayern, it looked as if Sadio Mané would make the transition easily. The Senegalese scored goals, set up goals and was unstoppable by any opponent. This was followed by a week-long dry spell, which surprised almost everyone. But not Mané himself.
“It’s not easy going from one club to another. I’ve spent eight great years in England, six at Liverpool after two at Southampton and now I’m in a new country. It’s not easy because suddenly so much has changed – the people, training, everything,” the offensive player said of his problems in an interview with “uefa.com” open on.
All these changes are “not easy at all,” admitted Mané, who is not surprised by the difficulties in adapting: “I have to adapt. I knew that, it wasn’t a surprise.” In the end, it works “exactly as I had imagined”. Not necessarily athletic, but on other levels, the Bayern professional explained: “The people at the club are great, I’m very happy.”
Sadio Mané: Everyone at Bayern is hungry
The Senegalese is also fully convinced of the Munich squad. “We have a very, very young squad. It’s the first time in my career that I’ve been part of such a young squad. What really strikes me is how hungry they all are,” enthused the 30-year-old.
The newcomer also gave indirect praise to coach Julian Nagelsmann, who also successfully tries to keep the tension high between games. “The training is just as intense as the games. That’s important, I think it makes a real difference and you can see that,” said the newcomer from Munich.
