The notices by bullying they have triplicate in Catalonia since the event in Sallent (Barcelona), in which a under 12 years died after jump with her twin sister from the balcony of his home by alleged bullying.
According to data from the Ministry of Education, Between January 23 and March 20, the Support Unit for Students in Violent Situations (USAV) received 241 alerts for cases of violence, of which 125 were alleged bullying. As of January 23, the USAV had received calls for 127 possible cases of violence of which 46 were for bullying.
Given that Sallent’s suicide occurred on February 21, the event can be inflection point that has caused the increase in number of alerts for violence and cases in schools.
Sources from the ‘conselleria’, who have not specified the notice data received in the last month since what happened in Sallent, have attributed the increase to a increased awareness of the problem of violence and harassment in society as a whole, since the notices come from both inside and outside of the schools.

The same sources have added that for prevent and sort out possible cases of violence in educational centers, from the next academic year 2023-24, in all schools and institutes there will be a reference of coexistence.
