Bulgarian hears demands for three years in prison for stabbing at Gees recreation park

Three men appeared to have been stabbed several times with a knife and beaten with a metal bar. They were treated in hospital. The prosecutor therefore finds abuse and threats proven.

The injuries to two men turned out to be minor, the chance of a fatal outcome for them was nil.

The third victim had a stab wound under his ear. According to the public prosecutor, this case involves attempted manslaughter. The prosecutor believes that the suspect is also guilty of theft of telephones and money and deprivation of liberty.

The suspect woke up in intensive care. He was tied up and confused and had no memory of the night. He later said he had consumed alcohol and several types of drugs. The man remembered that he had played cards with the others for money.

According to a psychologist, the less gifted man has disorders such as autism and schizophrenia. Due to heavy drug use, the man may have ended up in a short-term psychosis. The expert believes that the facts can be attributed to the suspect to a greatly reduced extent.

Without clinical treatment, the chance of recurrence is high, the public prosecutor also believes. He also took into account that the man had not previously been convicted and had to earn money for his family in Bulgaria in Western Europe, while suffering from feelings of homesickness.

The men he lived with in the house had known him for years. The suspect is not known as an aggressive man. Everyone was shocked, the prosecutor said, including the suspect himself. “These are all things to take into account,” the prosecutor said.

“If I really did what the others say, then I deserve punishment,” the not-too-talkative suspect told the judge. His lawyer asked the judge not to convict the Bulgarian. “He can’t remember anything,” the counselor said. She also felt that the investigation was not conducted carefully.

The court will make its ruling on October 20
