Buinerveen makes title race unnecessarily exciting again after surprising defeat

FOOTBALL – Buinerveen seemed to be heading straight for the championship in the Fifth Division D, but made a big slip this afternoon. It surprisingly lost at home to HH Combi and sees competitor SVBC approaching three points: 2-5.

The team went into halftime 0-1 behind, after which the game turned completely loose in the second half. It was 0-2 for HH Combi after fifty minutes, but Buinerveen reacted quickly via top scorer David Karabed, bringing it back into the game: 1-2.

HH Combi responded again by scoring the 1-3. Again a margin of two for the visitors, who watched in the 78th minute as Joeri Westerhof scored on behalf of Buinerveen: 2-3.

Instead of defending, HH Combi then went on the attack and managed to score two more times, resulting in a big win over the leader. With three games to go, Buinerveen is three points ahead of number two SVBC. Next week Buinerveen will play against number four Weiteveense Boys.
