“Building the Path: A Perspective of Growth and Self-Awareness”

How can we see adversities as opportunities for learning and growth? Every situation that arises is an opportunity to learn and grow. However, our perception of these situations will determine whether we find incentives and possibilities to learn or if we see obstacles that prevent us from moving forward.

What does the phrase “it’s not what happens to you but what you do with what happens to you” mean? This phrase means that we are not our history, we do not have to identify with it, but we are what we do with our history.

How can we identify our personal limitations and overcome them? We can identify our limitations by exercising our mind, reading, studying, practicing critical thinking and writing for therapeutic purposes. These activities allow us to strengthen our thinking and in turn identify our subjective position.

How can we use adversity to learn our strengths? The adversities and problems that we perceive as obstacles are actually the opportunity we have to know what characterizes us. They allow us to see what our strengths are and what mechanisms we put in place to move forward.

Why is it important to take action instead of just wishing things would get better? “Wishing for something to get better” doesn’t get us out of that place. You have to get involved in the process, take action and make things happen. If we only want things to get better, we forget the main thing: what do we do to make that happen? How can we start building a new path? Once we realize that it is not about “what we want” but about what we are capable of generating, it is the moment where we can begin to build a new path.
