Bryan Adams wanted to help Amy Winehouse

In a new interview, Bryan Adams opened up about his relationship with Amy Winehouse. He commented on the rumors that circulated in 2007: He is said to have flown Winehouse to his villa on Mustique, a private island in the Caribbean, to help her get sober.

“It has to come from within”

Bryan Adams became friends with Amy Winehouse after a photo shoot. In an interview with The Sunday Times, Adams said: “I invited her to spend the holidays with my family.” Adams also says he encouraged the “Back To Black” singer to go vegan. He would have served her carrot and beetroot juice – which didn’t go down well with her. He “tried to help her, but it has to come from within.”

Amy Winehouse would have turned 40 this year

Winehouse died in July 2011 at the age of 27. A coroner’s inquest concluded she died of alcohol poisoning. The singer would have turned 40 this year. Speaking on the occasion, her ex-boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil commented on her death: “Apart from the obvious things that everyone knew about – the addiction – it’s hard to deal with fame at a young age and I think for Amy and everything happened pretty quickly to me back then,” reflected Fielder-Civil. The intense pressure of being under constant surveillance contributed to Winehouse becoming lost in alcohol.
