Brunello Cucinelli pours: the fashion designer’s first wine

Brunello Cucinelli presented his own wine.

The founder of the Italian fashion label of the same name presented his own wine in Milan on Wednesday. The 2018 vintage comes from a vineyard in the Italian village of Solomeo, to which Cucinelli feels a deep connection and is the entrepreneur’s company and home. Therefore, the wine bears the name “Castello di Solomeo”, announced Brunello Cucinelli on Thursday.

“I believe that there is nothing more beautiful than sharing this precious fruit, which has resulted from a long process of care and preservation, with lifelong friends and loved ones,” said Cucinelli.

The vineyard was planted in 2011 with an area of ​​five hectares plus another hectare for a garden. Three different types of soil ensure the right basis for each grape variety. For the first wine, the “Castello di Solomeo”, the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot were chosen. About 9,000 bottles are to be filled per year.
