Brunello Cucinelli’s wine

The birth of the Rosso del Castello di Solomeo

The grapes chosen for the “Castello di Solomeo” are Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, from which the prestigious Bordeaux blend is born, to which the Sangiovese grape is added as a tribute to the culture and winemaking tradition of Central Italy. From this union a structured wine is born and at the same time rich in softness. The more than 20,000 plants that wind along the undulating rows of the Solomeo vineyard are cared for every day with the ultimate goal of guaranteeing maximum longevity and well-being. An agricultural philosophy “according to nature” which puts into practice the wisdom kept in the hands, combining it with the science of technology and the sensitivity of the human soul.

The gratitude of Brunello Cucinelli

“Last night, in this place so rich in history and charm which is the palace of the Institute of the Blind in the most noble Milan, it was really exciting to savor the first sip of this wine at least for me very, very special that it is born from our land and from a work of great attention and passion. In our Solomeo we have dedicated five hectares to vines that are grown according to the classic principles of viticulture, which I consider a real art and I like to think that our grapes can finally tell their story of beauty.

I believe that there is nothing more beautiful than sharing this precious fruit with lifelong friends and loved ones, born from a long work of care and custody. Just as it happened in ancient Greece, I like to imagine that our wine can cheer up the most pleasant symposiums of people who renew this very human ritual. After all, with the work Sophists at Athenaeum’s banquet, it is nice to remember that “on the sea, the color of wine, Dionysus brought all that is good for men”.
