“The woman from Bruges is one of the few women who broke through all the glass ceilings. In 1983 she graduated as a civil engineer from KU Leuven. The fact that a woman successfully completed those studies was exceptional and atypical at the time,” it said.
She started her career in the financial sector in the IT department of Generale Bank. After a few other jobs, she ended up at Euroclear as ‘head of technology’. In 2017 she became the CEO of the settlement house.
