Bruggeling Vandenbussche takes gold at the World Rowing Championships for promises
Aaron Andries and Tristan Vandenbussche, also the strongest duo in the series and the semi-finals, made the difference in the second part of the A-final. In the end, the Bruggeling and the Gentenaar won in 6:18.64 with more than three seconds ahead of the Moldovans Alexandr Bulat and Ivan Corsunov (6:21.86). Ireland’s Konan Pazzaia and Brian Colsh (6:23.19) followed in just under five seconds. According to the Belgian rowing federation, this is the first Belgian boat with a world title in the U23 category in an Olympic category.
