Bruges resident David Catry (40) died last night in a Cambodian cell, more than 9,000 kilometers away from his family. The man was serving a prison sentence in Prey Sar – ‘Hell’ in Cambodian vernacular. At one point he lived with 106 inmates in a cell for up to 30 people. David had asthma all his life and a severe attack killed him on Saturday night. “They tried to take him to a hospital, but the help came too late,” said his mother Huguette.
