Bruges unpacks with city app

Bruges has developed the app itself. From now on, residents can make an appointment via the app on their smartphone, which was already possible online. The app is also a quick way for residents, visitors and entrepreneurs to report something to the city. It is also useful that you can add a photo and follow what happens with your report.

Every year, the City of Bruges receives more than 11,000 reports, from signaling an unsafe traffic situation to reporting a broken swing. Most of these reports come in via brugge.be. From now on, notifications can be made even faster via the app.

The reporter can choose from a short list of options in the StadsApp or search for a theme using a keyword. With the built-in GPS, the app shares the correct location and the user can immediately upload a photo. After formulating a short description, the notification can be sent. The app makes smart use of the functions of the telephone to pass on a notification to the city authorities even more efficiently and faster.

Ships of Smart City Minou Esquenet: “Users with an account can also monitor the status of their report in real time. Each status is given its own color code and by clicking on the screen, the user will see an update on the status. This way, as a reporter, you are immediately up to date with the latest information.”
