Bruges organizes book market for charity

Just like the editions in previous years, the book market runs along the water, more specifically along the Groenerei and Steenhouwersdijk. The first book markets are organized on the first weekend of June. All visitors are welcome on Saturday 3 June and Sunday 4 June from 10 am to 6 pm. The Committee for Initiative also provides a nice gift: anyone who buys a book receives a bookmark.

The offer is provided by numerous private booksellers from the region. From comic books to novels to cookbooks, there’s something for everyone. “We especially hope that young people will find their way to these book markets and that this will motivate them to also pick up a book,” says the city.

Bruges mayor Dirk De fauw was present for the official opening on Saturday, as were Franky Demon and Nico Blontrock, among others.
