Exactly one year ago, Bruce Willis’ family revealed that the actor had aphasia – a language disorder that affects all language skills: speaking, reading, writing and understanding. This condition has since evolved into dementia. Now Willis’ wife Emma Heming Willis has contacted the paparazzi via Instagram and asked that her husband be left alone by the photographers.
“It is clear that there is still a lot of educational work to be done,” the 45-year-old entrepreneur said in an emotional video she posted to Instagram on Saturday. “This goes to the photographers and videographers trying to get exclusive shots of my husband while he’s out: just keep your distance. I know this is your job, but maybe you guys just keep your distance.”
She added: “To the videographers: Please don’t yell at my husband and ask him how he’s doing or whatever – the ‘woooo-ing’ and the ‘yippee ki yays’… just drop it. That’s not possible, okay? Give him his space. Allow our family, or whoever is with him that day, to get him from point A to point B safely.” Do you have any tips or advice on how to safely get your loved ones out into the world? Please share below.”
Bruce Willis was one of the most successful male actors of the ’90s – the 67-year-old had his most prestigious roles in films such as ‘The Sixth Sense’, ‘Pulp Fiction’, ‘The Fifth Element’ and the ‘Die Hard’ film series. At the end of March 2022, after the Aphase diagnosis, he officially ended his acting career. Willis has three daughters with actress Demi Moore and two more daughters with his second wife Emma Heming Willis in 2012 and 2014.
