Actor Bruce Willis67, suffers from dementia.

On Thursday, his relatives made a situation update on the man’s health:

– As a family, we want to thank you all for the support we have received in the last ten months.

– Since we know you love Bruce as much as we do, we want to give you an update. Since Bruce was diagnosed with aphasia last spring, his condition has worsened. We now have a more accurate diagnosis to report: frontotemporal dementia.

The family also says that the aphasia was just a symptom of the disease. However, getting the final diagnosis was a relief.

Last March, it was reported that Willis would stop acting. The reason was aphasia. It means that the ability to produce speech is reduced.

– Due to this and after much consideration, Bruce is leaving a career that has meant a lot to him, the family announced at the time.

There were rumors about Willis’s memory problems even earlier. Among other things, film director Dan Przygoda wrote on his Twitter account that Willis suffers from dementia.

This was previously claimed by an anonymous source Alright! for the magazinethat Willis needed special assistance in 2019 Glass– while making the film. According to the source, he did not remember his turns or which direction he had to move.

The Willis family reminds us in a long Instagram post that any of us can get dementia.

– It is a much more common disease than many people think.

– There is currently no medication for dementia. Hopefully this will change. The disease needs more visibility and research.

The family also notes that Willis has always wanted to use his voice to help others. Now is the time for others to bring awareness to the disease and look for cures for it.

Willis’ career began in television in the 1980s and continued in action, comedy and drama films.

He is best known for his role as John McClane Die Hard -film series, which was a commercial success.

Willis has acted in more than 70 films, including blockbusters Pulp Fiction – Stories of violence, 12 monkeys, The Fifth Element, Armageddon, Sixth Sense and The Expendables 2.
