In the new section ‘Bread and Games’ reporter Thomas Brood is introduced to various sports. In this episode he is working his way up to get ready for the Dam tot Damloop. Athlete Ronald Schröer takes him in tow.
Brood started preparing a month ago. On the athletics track of AV Castricum, Schroër put the reporter to work. After fifteen laps he collapsed exhausted. “It will be very difficult to finish the Dam tot Damloop”, Schroër commented afterwards.

In the weeks that followed, he started working independently. “Why did I start this with that fat body of mine?”, Brood wonders after his first individual training.
This weekend the Dam tot Damloop will take place with Thomas Brood as one of the participants. Monday, September 19, in the next episode of Brood en Speel, you can see whether he will make it to the finish after ten English miles.
