Bronze statue stolen again for Till Lindemann’s birthday

Till Lindemann celebrates his 60th anniversary on Wednesday (January 4th). To honor him, artist Roxxy Roxx made a statue of the Rammstein singer and set it up in Rostock, but it disappeared within 24 hours.

The Rostock resident set up his work of art in front of the block of flats on Berthold-Brecht-Strasse in the Evershagen district, where Lindemann had lived for a number of years when he was young. Within a day, the statue and the pedestal have disappeared. The police are investigating and are currently looking for witnesses.

Opposite the “Baltic newspaperThe artist explained before the crime: “The best thing would be if Rammstein fans were happy and came there to eat a piece of cake or drink a glass of champagne on their birthday.” He commented on the theft to the “Bild” shortly afterwards: “Unfortunately, Till has already been stolen. I was expecting that, but my hope was that he would at least stick around past his birthday.”

Two years ago, Roxxy Roxx, who does not reveal his real name, made a 1.30 meter tall statue of Marsimato aka Marteria. This work, which he set up in Rostock, was also stolen after a few days. On Instagram, Roxx posted a photo of the second monument that has since disappeared, along with birthday greetings to the musician: “An early ‘Happy Birthday’, Till Lindemann. I made you a statue.”

For his latest creation, he shared a video with insights into the creation process of the statue. It is unclear whether Till Lindemann found out about his bronze statue. “I got no reaction from Till Lindemann’s management. But that is also perfectly fine. They may not have noticed anything about the action,” confirms Roxx of “Bild”. Here are ten facts about Rammstein.

The group is going on a big “Europe Stadium” tour this year, stopping at the following (sold out) stadiums in Germany:

  • June 7th and 8th: Olympiastadion, Munich (sold out)
  • June 10th and 11th: Olympiastadion, Munich (sold out)
  • July 15, 16 and 18: Olympiastadion, Berlin (sold out)

Tickets are still available for shows in Odense (Denmark), Lisbon (Portugal), Madrid (Spain), Chorzów (Poland), Padova (Italy) and Budapest (Hungary).

Rammstein’s latest single “Adieu” and its music video were released in November. In fan circles it has since been speculated whether the formation has heralded its end. The work can be heard here:
