After his end at Leicester City in November 2024, Steve Cooper found a new club. The 45-year-old Welsh becomes the new coach at Bröndby IF, where he receives a contract until 2028. Cooper follows the 36-year-old Danes Frederik Birk, who has been on the sidelines of the eleven-time master 31 times since January.

The German sports director Benjamin Schmedes said: “Steve is the rare combination of youth and experience, vision and personality. He is a man who can help shape a club like ours and both the individual players and the entire club to a new level.”

“I would like to win and see what this club can do when it is in the best form. The owners of Bröndby see it the same way, and their vision for the club is an important reason that I am here. I assume the challenge, and I know that the players will do that too,” said Cooper in a letter to the followers. “I believe that we will all be an impressive force together – players, employees and fans.” Ex-Bundesliga attacker Michael Gregoritsch (31) plays at Bröndby.
