Technical director Sven Mislintat has signed his sixth player for Ajax. Chuba Akpom is his name and the 27-year-old striker comes over from Middlesbrough. The Amsterdam club pays the English about twelve million euros.

After Branco van den Boomen, Benjamin Tahirovic, Carlos Forbs, Jakov Medic and Diant Ramaj, Akpom is the sixth reinforcement for Ajax this summer.
In his younger years, Akpom was considered a great talent in Arsenal’s youth academy. He also made his professional debut with the club from North London, but he never really broke through. Furthermore, the goalkeeper was still under contract with PAOK Saloniki. For the Greek club, he scored another goal in 2019 in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League against Ajax.
