The news that Frank Masmeijer has been pardoned hit like a bomb last week. Although the decision was criticized a lot, the former quizmaster sees a rosy future. “I want to enjoy my new life. A job, earn money and enjoy my granddaughter who I have now been able to hold for the first time,” he told Privé.
In previous interviews, he also made it clear that he would like to pick up his TV career again. But that wish does not seem to be coming true for the time being, according to a survey by Nu.nl. Omroep MAX states that a collaboration is ‘not an issue’ and KRO-NCRV wishes the former presenter ‘success with his ambition’ to return.
There is also little interest from the commercial sector in bringing in Masmeijer. “We see no reason for that now,” RTL says. Talpa doesn’t seem too keen either. “Not yet”, says a spokesperson. But, with this answer, the door does not seem completely closed for Masmeijer.
It doesn’t seem to bother him much though. In the latest Privé, in the shop from today, it becomes clear that Frank Masmeijer is enjoying his suddenly gained freedom to the fullest. And: “I have some very nice perspectives. If everything is concrete, I want to come out with it.”
