Britt Dekker is again under fire for being unkind in real life. This time the criticism comes from Rick Romijn, one of her colleagues at Talpa. “She’s a bunch of arrogant!”
Britt Dekker has been haunted for quite some time by evil tongues that claim that she is not that authentic at all. She is always very nice on television – and more importantly: so very ordinary – but what is she like in real life? According to Marc-Marie Huijbregts she is ‘very unkind’, Dries Roelvink thinks she is ‘a type’ and Angela de Jong states that she is ‘fake’.
Knocked off on Britt
Rick Romijn, the star sidekick of Radio Veronica who will make the important morning show of Radio 538 after the summer, is now next in line. “My daughter had to play for Zapp Sport in the ADO stadium yesterday with all girls,” he says in Tim Klijn’s morning show.
And it is precisely there that Rick has become very disappointed in his Talpa colleague. “I am a bit snapped at ehh… Because it is presented by Ron Boszhard and Britt Dekker. In advance: who do you like better?”
Extremely arrogant
Presenter Tim: “I think Ron Boszhard is a really nice guy.”
Newsreader Florentien van der Meulen: “I think Britt does.”
Fellow sidekick Niels van Baarlen: “I think they are both just too bad.”
Rick: “Well, that Ron Boszhard is tolerable, but that Britt Dekker is a lot of arrogant, that really does not make you happy.”
Star allures
According to Rick, Britt has star allures. “At ADO you have a players tunnel and there were a number of spectators who wanted to take a picture with her. There was about seven or eight men waiting and one of them asked: can I have my picture taken?”
So Britt didn’t really feel like it, he continues. “Well, she stood next to it, a picture was taken. But there were six or seven more waiting. She turns around and she walks out of that tunnel without saying a word. She also just left immediately after the recording.”
Not so nice
If you don’t feel like taking pictures with the rest, you can just say that to those people and children, says Rick. Florentien agrees: “You are a public figure and you know it can happen.”
This is not a snapshot, Rick emphasizes. “I was there for an hour and a half, so I was able to keep a close eye on it. She distances herself from everything. The camera turns on and then suddenly it is shine, shine, shineand the camera turns off and then…”
He concludes: “I expected her to be a bit nicer.”
