The Sun advertises two photos of Elizabeth next to each other: a young boy before the hair of the Crown, a recent beeld of the 96-year-old Queen. “We raise van u houden, mevrouw”, kopt de krant.
The Times: ‘A life in service’
Missing cranes, according to The Guardian and The Times, published a portrait that in 1953 was made by the Crown of Elizabeth. ‘Een leven in dienst’ writes The Times at the end of the day. Bovenal, says de Krant, “what the vrouw die de monarchie in dit land heeft gered”.
The Guardian: ‘Verweven met de Stof van ons leven’
The Guardian has negentien pagina’s aan het leven van de Queen (1926-2022). De Krant describes the king as “so completely lost with the stuff of our lives” in a period of government the grandchildren of the greatest changes of all tijden omvatte.
The Mirror: ‘Thanks’
The Mirror writes op de voorpagina bij een recente afbeelding van Elizabeth ‘thanks’. De natie moet “het dungeon van der 96-jahrige monarch begin te verwerken”, het nog. The Mirror also reports that the children of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now right on the HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) title, and verwijst daarbij naar regels die in 1917 by Koning George V zijn opgesteld.
Daily Express: ‘Once the King is alive’
The Daily Express reports, in hoofdletters, that ‘onze geliefde koningin dood is’, bij een witt-witafbeelding van de monarch. The letter says Britten de straten overspoelden “verenigd in rouw”, en hoe “huilende menigten” het folkslied zongen voor Buckingham Palace.
The Daily Telegraph: ‘The prices that we betaen for delivery are different’
The Daily Telegraph writes with the following photo: ‘Verdriet is de prijs die we betalen voor liefde.’ Internally, the king is described as a “calm change” that is “strong” and “modest”. He was told before the reigning period of King Charles and noted that the New Monarchy “heeft was forced not to meet the political demands of the day, but it was not possible to say that it was right for the decree that the decennial long heeft bepleit”.
The Daily Mail: ‘Once hard zijn broken’
The Daily Mail writes on the page for a ‘special historical edit’, with a young Elizabeth on the cover, that ‘once hard zijn broken’. Therein state that, in tegenstelling tot sommige van haar vororgangers, the reigning period van de Koningin not as a “tijdperk” can be categorized, omdat haar tijd op de troon “gewoon te veel omspande”.
