On her Instagram profile, the singer opens: “I could not take the pain anymore.”
After the surprising end of her marriage to Sam Asghari, Britney Spears took to social media for the first time. In a post on Instagram, the singer shared how difficult the failed relationship was for her. It had only been a year since Spears and Asghari tied the knot.
Britney Spears on marriage: ‘Couldn’t take the pain anymore’
It wasn’t until June 2022 that Britney Spears married actor and fitness trainer Sam Asghai. The two had been a couple for a long time. After just 14 months, Spears’ third marriage broke up.
That this is not an easy circumstance for the “Toxic” singer, she announced on Instagram on Saturday (August 19). Commenting on a video, Spears offered insight into her current state of mind: “Six years is a long time to be with someone, so I’m a little shaken too… I’m not here to explain ‘why’, and Honestly, it’s nobody’s business!!! But seriously, I just couldn’t take the pain anymore!!!” the post reads. Spears and Asghari have had their ups and downs since they were together, like when the singer miscarried her third pregnancy.
Sharing with fans how much all of this weighs on Spears, she continued: “I would love to show my emotions and tears to my true feelings but for some reason I always had to hide my weaknesses!!! If I wasn’t Dad’s strong soldier, I would be sent away to be taken care of by doctors.!!! But that was when I needed my family the most!!! You should be loved unconditionally…not on conditions!!!!”
Despite all these strokes of fate, Spears does not want to be defeated. “[…] I will be as strong as I can and do my best!!! And actually I’m doing damn well!!!”, she concludes her longer message.
Neither Spears nor her ex-husband have commented on the reasons for their divorce. The singer may also want to put more energy into her creative work, which has probably just been rekindled.
