British tourists missing after fire on luxury ship off Egyptian coast | Abroad

The Red Sea Governorate said in a brief statement that twelve crew members and twelve British tourists were rescued. The medium-sized boat Hurricane went up in flames on the southern part of the Red Sea, near the resort of Marsa Alam.

A team was sent out to find the three missing British tourists. Their identities have not yet been released.

After an initial investigation, the Egyptian authorities conclude that the fire started after a short circuit in the engine compartment of the boat.

The Red Sea near Egypt is a popular holiday destination among Europeans. It also has a good reputation among divers because you can easily get to coral reefs. There is also a diversity of marine life to observe.
